![]() ![]() Sometime later, SpongeBob starts acting slow and somewhat like a snail, as well as eating Gary's food himself. Upon realizing that Gary only needed water, Squidward leaves telling SpongeBob not to worry. Squidward reluctantly agrees and, while trying to inject Gary, accidentally injects SpongeBob with snail plasma causing SpongeBob to worry about the consequences. SpongeBob asks Squidward to give Gary the plasma, as he is squeamish. He comes over to SpongeBob's house, and gives SpongeBob a syringe full of snail plasma. ![]() SpongeBob realizes that something is wrong, and quickly calls the local veterinarian, Dr. Just as Squidward is about to leave, a smirk on his face, Gary slowly enters the room. He greets SpongeBob awkwardly, and explains that he was only checking on Gary. When he hears SpongeBob coming in, Squidward gives up and puts all of Gary's food into his mouth. Squidward puts Gary down as he hears SpongeBob and Patrick saying goodbye to each other, and tries to force feed Gary. However, Gary is so weak from waiting for SpongeBob to come home, he is limp in Squidward's arms and will not eat. Squidward, thinking he will be able to help, tried to give Gary some food. However, when he goes to get Gary, he finds him very sick, due to lack of food, water, and attention. When SpongeBob gets back, Squidward suddenly remembers that he was supposed to take care of Gary. He soaks up plenty of sun, but Gary is left in the house, looking longingly in the direction where SpongeBob left, horribly neglected. They do, and Squidward runs out of SpongeBob's house and sits in a lounge chair for the whole weekend, thus ignoring Gary. Eager to get rid of both of them, Squidward lies and says that he will do it to get SpongeBob and Patrick to leave. There are very large cans of snail food with the words "morning", "afternoon" and "night" written on them, so that Squidward will be able to keep track. SpongeBob takes Squidward around his house, telling him that he will have to feed Gary for three days. Realizing that he will not be able to take Gary, SpongeBob leaves Gary in Squidward's responsibility. SpongeBob and Patrick are all set to leave for the jellyfishing convention in Ukelele Bottom that weekend. SpongeBob says "Don't worry, it grows back!" and the episode ends. Patrick comments on SpongeBob's "pink hat," and SpongeBob explains that it's not a hat, it's his brain, and Patrick screams and runs away. Subsequently, everyone runs away, including the Dutchman, leaving SpongeBob satisfied to finally have succeeded in scaring people. He takes off SpongeBob's costume, which revealed that his brain is exposed as a result of Patrick's shaving. He says that SpongeBob is the "straw that broke the camel's back," and that he will now steal the souls of everyone present. He explains to them how offended he is by people dressing up as him for Halloween, and that SpongeBob's costume is the worst of all. ![]() Everybody starts laughing at SpongeBob, but soon the real Flying Dutchman appears. However, when a jellyfish stings Patrick, whom the rope is tied to, he starts running around in pain, causing SpongeBob to fly around uncontrollably, exposing his true identity. They then go to the roof of the Krusty Krab where a Halloween party is taking place, turn off all the lights, and lower SpongeBob with a rope, with Patrick providing the voice of the "Dutchman," which initially terrifies everyone. Believing themselves to be scary, SpongeBob and Patrick go around town attempting to scare people, and believe themselves to be successful in doing so, although their "victims" are simply confused by their antics. Patrick shaves SpongeBob's head, making it round. SpongeBob realizes that a real ghost has a round head, and that he has a square one. They make a "Flying Dutchman" costume, but it fails to scare anyone. After being scared by Patrick, he asks him for help. SpongeBob, who has a reputation for being easily scared, and is nicknamed "SpongeBob ScaredyPants," rushes home, and is scared by everything he sees on the way. Squidward, dressed up as the Flying Dutchman, appears behind SpongeBob, saying that he'll steal his soul, terrifying him. He tells a story of "The Flying Dutchman," a ghost who steals souls on Halloween. Krabs stops him and asks him if he wants to hear his "annual scary story," and he then does. After he finishes, he begins to run away, but Mr. He is frightened by the creepy door closing and a word (or possibly a message) reading "BOO" on the order slips. Scaredy Pants: It's Halloween in Bikini Bottom, and SpongeBob is cleaning the dishes in the Krusty Krab at the end of the work day. ![]()
